Museum Computer Network Annual Conference 2008; Let’s do I.T Right!

I had the pleasure of attending the MCN annual conference earlier in November in Washington D.C. This conference is held ever year to promote the advancement of technology with the Museum Industry and to make the end user aware of new developments and products. It was, as such, a fantastic venue for Horasphère to make its debut appearance in the United States.
The relaxed atmosphere of this conference allowed us to have some great conversations with potential clients and to spread the word that Horasphère is here to stay on the Museum Scene. The majority of attendees came to search out new solutions for archiving and online catalogues, so they found it refreshing to see something different and to be reminded that human resources also require some IT attention within their institutions.
The support we received from the museum attendees and the other vendors was overwhelming and it was a great way to get a feel for the American Museum Industry as a whole. Arriving in the national capital just days after the victory of Barrack Obama made our time their feel even more special.
We will be making appearances at the ALA and AMA conferences later in 2009, so watch this space!
